La historia
La Historia was born when Óscar Trujillo and David del Cerro reconnected after the pandemic lockdown and combined their musical visions. The first, a cellist and composer with classical training deeply rooted in academic pillars, and the second, a self-taught guitarist, composer, and producer, create a synergy in their relentless pursuit of color, structure, and style.
Their creative approach is based on a profound exploration of the roots of instrumental musical culture, resulting in pieces that are not only symphonic but also soloistic and improvisational by nature. They treat the act of making music as a unique and living event. Thus, the conception, arrangement, and direction of their compositions are always evolving and non-exclusive, drawing inspiration from around the world and across different moments in history—a timeless, borderless music.
Influenced by the folklore of various cultures and genres, including folk, blues, jazz, African roots, and classical music, this duo has also found a niche in theater soundtracks and commercial scores. Through their music, they transport listeners to different scenarios, atmospheres, and contexts—wherever our imagination wishes to take us.
José González, Fela Kuti, Hans Zimmer, and Erik Satie are just some of their inspirations.
